Ezekiel Elliott’s NFL career didn’t pan out as most people expected.

He had an incredibly early run with the Dallas Cowboys, and he should go down as one of the best running backs in franchise history, but his fall from grace was tough to watch.

Even so, he hasn’t given up on his career, and he’s still holding onto hope of getting a new deal.

In the meantime, he’s having a good time with his Alma Mater.

As pointed out by FOX Sports NFL, the Buckeye legend was in attendance at Ohio State’s spring football game, showing his support for his program.

Elliott finished last season strong.

With Rhamondre Stevenson on the shelf, he took over as the New England Patriots primary running back, and while his numbers weren’t as impressive as they used to be, he proved that he still had a quick burst and was a force in short-yardage situations.

There were reports and rumors about the Dallas Cowboys being interested in bringing him back after a one-year hiatus but nothing has come to fruition yet.

The Cowboys could definitely use more bodies in their running back corps, especially after watching Tony Pollard — who replaced Elliott as the starter — walk away to join the Tennessee Titans.

Even if he’s not going to be the same dominant force he used to be, he clearly still has love for the organization, and he was a fan favorite and a strong presence in the locker room, so they should bring him back.
