The Brooklyn Nets have been through a lot lately.

Signing Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving and trading for James Harden will go down as bad historical moves by this franchise.

Their departures set them back in a big way, and they did not get as much in return, especially considering how much trouble they caused.

It also cost Jacque Vaughn his job, as he failed to make the most of the little talent he had this season and was let go midway through the campaign.

The Nets had Kevin Ollie fill in as an interim head coach, but it doesn’t seem like he’s done enough to get the job on a full-time basis.

According to a report by Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Nets have already chosen their finalists: former Milwaukee Bucks championship-winning coach Mike Budenholzer, Sacramento Kings associate head coach Jodi Fernandez, and Phoenix Suns associate head coach Kevin Young.

Sources: Bucks championship coach Mike Budenholzer, Kings associate Jordi Fernandez and Suns associate Kevin Young have emerged among the finalists for the Brooklyn Nets head coaching job.

Charania adds that team owner Joe Tsai and GM Sean Marks would meet with all three finalists in the near future and that it shouldn’t take long before they make a decision.

The Nets don’t control their fate in the NBA Draft and don’t have a legitimate foundational piece or potential superstar on their roster, and whoever takes the reins of the team is going to be in for a tough challenge.
