This is a great year to need a wide receiver in the NFL Draft, as there is top-level talent worthy of being taken in the top 10, but also plenty of depth fans could see taken later in the first round or on Day 2 that could step in and make an immediate impact.

Ohio State’s Marvin Harrison Jr. and LSU’s Malik Nabers are likely to be the first two receivers off the board and could both be gone by the fifth pick, but one New York Jets insider is pushing the idea of taking the consensus No. 3 receiver on the board with the tenth pick.

ESPN’s Rich Cimini turned to X to highlight Washington’s Rome Odunze, who he believes is a strong possibility for New York at No. 10 due to his production, speed, and toughness.

#Jets draft preview (first-round possibility):

WR Rome Odunze, Washington, 6-3, 212

Team captain. All-America. Four-year player. Speed in 40: 4.45
’23 stats: 92 catches, 1,640 yds (led FBS), 13 TDs, 5 drops, 44.4% contested catch (slightly above average), per @ESPNStatsInfo

Cimini highlighted how Odunze was a team captain and All-American, led FBS in receiving yards last season, and didn’t miss a single game despite having a broken rib and punctured lung.

Odunze could be gone by the tenth pick, but Cimini believes if he is available, the Jets should “sprint the card to the podium.”

New York has little to offer outside of young stud receiver Garrett Wilson and the newly signed Mike Williams who is only on a one-year deal, and Odunze would step right in as the potential long-term complement to Wilson.

The Green Bay Packers famously never drafted first-round weapons for Aaron Rodgers.

The Jets have a chance to make him happy and should take it if they have the chance.
