The Sacramento Kings got themselves into a bit of a pickle.

Losing Kevin Huerter and Malik Monk to injuries hurt them significantly on offense, and they weren’t able to keep last season’s pace up in the final stretch of the campaign.

That’s why they’ll have to compete in their final game of the season if they want to avoid falling to the No. 9 or No. 10 seed.

Fortunately for them, as Cameron Salerno of CBS Sports pointed out, they’re currently favored by 16.5 points in their matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers, the worst team in the Western Conference.

The Kings still have two legitimate stars in Domantas Sabonis and De’Aaron Fox, and they have playoff experience from last season’s first-round series with the Golden State Warriors.

Nonetheless, being without the Sixth Man of the Year frontrunner and one of their best offensive players should be a big blow to any team, including them.

The Western Conference will go down to the wire and we don’t even know how the top 3 is going to end, so it’s impossible for any team to try and gamble with their playoff-seeding position to get a favorable matchup, so the Kings need to win at all costs.
