No team is happier about the end of the NBA season coming to a close than the Detroit Pistons.
This campaign has been an absolute nightmare for the fans, the players, and the organization.
Despite having one of the highest-paid coaches in the league, the Pistons will finish with the worst record in the league for the second season in a row.
This team was expected to show significant improvement from last season, as they would have more young stars and a returning Cade Cunningham.
Instead, they went on the worst losing streaks in NBA history, and don’t seem to have a clear direction for the future.
That’s why it’s not much of a surprise to see James L. Edwards III of The Athletic report that this team could go through some major changes in the offseason.
Sources: With the worst season in franchise history coming to a close today, Pistons owners Tom Gores is considering sweeping changes, including hiring a president of bball operations.

Per the report, team owner Tom Gores is considering ‘sweeping changes,’ including a new president of basketball operations.
Monty Williams signed a six-year contract, so firing him could be very costly for the organization.
Then again, anything and everything should be assessed after this season.
The Pistons have a legitimate building block in Cade Cunningham.
Jaden Ivey and Jalen Duren have shown All-Star potential at times as well, and Ausar Thompson had a promising season when healthy, so there should still be some optimism for the future.
Nevertheless, it takes way more than just stacking up talent and hoping things work out to find success in this league.
