The last day of the 2023-24 NBA regular season is here and the New York Knicks have a lot to play for as there’s a possibility they can take the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference.

The Knicks have a game at home against the Chicago Bulls, one they should take care of easily.

A win over Chicago plus a Milwaukee Bucks loss to the Orlando Magic would give them the edge in the standings.

Regardless of where New York ends up, though, they’re projected to be one of the toughest outs in the postseason because their brand of basketball is tailor-made for it.

They’re a tough, physical bunch who can play fast or slow while also being able to grind out possessions in high-stakes games.

Leading the way is Jalen Brunson, who is having a career-year and will likely be on some MVP ballots once the regular-season award voting begins.

Head coach Tom Thibodeau was highly effusive of Brunson, comparing him to franchise legend Patrick Ewing, via Knicks Videos on Twitter.

“As soon as we signed Jalen, it was immediately into the gym… there’s no Fake-A-Gram or Instagram, or whatever they call it… it sets the tone for your team,” Thibodeau said.

Putting Brunson’s name in the same sentence as Ewing’s might raise some eyebrows, but the point guard has been a superstar for New York this year.

Brunson has carried the team the entire year and made sure there was no drop-off when it was announced Julius Randle would be forced to miss the remainder of the year due to injury.

With Brunson playing as well as he is, the sky’s the limit for the Knicks.
