The Los Angeles Lakers were able to turn things around during this 2023-24 NBA regular season, after the team had been hovering around .500 for the majority of the campaign, in order to make it to the Play-In Tournament once again.

One of the main reasons for the Lakers’ success in the second half of the season has been the play of their superstars, with Anthony Davis and LeBron James turning it up a notch as the team had no intentions of seeing their year come to an end earlier than anticipated.

As for James, he continues to play at an incredibly high level, being 39 years old and having over two decades of basketball mileage on his body.

On Sunday, in order for the Lakers to avoid playing two games in the Play-In Tournament, the team went head-to-head against the New Orleans Pelicans on the road, which resulted in James reaching yet another impressive milestone, via Hoop Central.

“BREAKING: LeBron James is the 1st player in NBA History with 40k Points, 11k Rebounds, 11k Assists,” they tweeted.

As James continues to hold back Father Time, the milestones and accolades continue to pile up as he tries to make his case as the best player ever to play the game, even if it’s only from a statistical standpoint.

As for the Lakers, Los Angeles will try to defy the odds once again in order to get through the Play-In Tournament and punch their ticket to the NBA playoffs, where they would play a formidable opponent in the first round.

Only time will tell whether James and company are up for the task and how far this team can go this year.
