The 2024 NFL Draft is rapidly approaching, and it is one of the most highly anticipated in recent history.

Many fans and analysts are excited about several marquee positions, including wide receiver, quarterback, and offensive lineman.

All three of those positions are said to be deep and filled with several blue-chip prospects.

While this is the case, some fans could be overlooking other positions, such as defensive linemen.

Brian Baldinger recently discussed this on the CHGO Bears podcast, highlighting a player he believes to be one of the best defenders in the class.

“It looks to be like Dallas Turner could easily be the first defensive lineman taken off the board in this draft,” Baldinger said, adding that he looks “pro-ready.”

Turner was a force to be reckoned with at the University of Alabama, and his final season proved to be his best from a statistical standpoint.

He had 10 sacks in his final year with the team, an indication of how powerful he can be off the line.

Turner was also an All-American and, due to his on-field efforts, received the Co-SEC Player of the Year Award in 2023.

As Baldinger points out, Turner could certainly be worthy of a first-round selection if he can play as well in the NFL as he did in college.

This position isn’t getting a lot of buzz in the media overall, so it will be interesting to see where a player like Turner will end up and how far he will fall in the pecking order due to the strength of the aforementioned positions.
