The Phoenix Suns managed to escape the Play-In Tournament.
It took them — literally — until the last game of the regular season, and they also needed some help from the Los Angeles Lakers, but they took care of business vs. the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Of course, the Suns had the potential to be the driving force in the Western Conference, which is why this season was so disappointing for them.
Then again, they have more than enough star power to get hot now and go deep into the playoffs.
Notably, former NBA player Eddie House is confident in their ability to get the job done, mostly because of Kevin Durant.
Talking on The Carton Show, he pointed out that Durant is one of the greatest players to ever do it, going as far as to say that the Warriors begged him to join them and that he was their leader and the reason they won two consecutive titles.
Can Kevin Durant carry the Suns past the Timberwolves?

Well, that’s a huge stretch.
Durant is most definitely one of the best ever, but he’s not the same player he was almost a decade ago when he joined the Warriors.
As for being their leader, that’s a distinction that goes to both Draymond Green and Stephen Curry.
Also, the Warriors had one before, and they had made it to the NBA Finals the very season before he joined them, and they won again without him, so he clearly wasn’t the only reason they found success.
Whatever the case, Durant is a future first-ballot Hall of Famer, and the Suns will be a team to look out for.
