The Philadelphia Eagles are one of the best teams in the league right now, and they want to make sure that stays the case for years to come.

That’s why they just signed one of their best players to a contract extension.

Former No. 10 pick DeVonta Smith will now be under contract through the 2028 season, signing a three-year extension worth $75 million with $51 million fully guaranteed (via NFL on Twitter).

Needless to say, it didn’t take long before the fans took to social media to share their thoughts on this move.

Eagles really have the best front office in the league

On the surface, 25 mil per year seems like a lot, but by the time this contract starts the market will be way higher

They got ahead of the market, which must have Jerry Jones very confused

Smith entered the league as a polarizing player.

Some were concerned about his skinny frame and lack of size, and others thought he had superstar potential.

The truth has been somewhere in-between, as he’s put up impressive production and has only missed one game in his career, yet some might feel like he’s not lived up to the expectations.

Even so, Smith is a team-first kind of guy, and he’s been a good sport despite A.J. Brown logging most of the target for Jalen Hurts, knowing it takes more than just one guy to win in the National Football League.

Hurts regressed last season and drew some concerns among fans and analysts, but GM Howie Roseman still trusts him and wants to make his job a lot easier.

And even if Hurts isn’t back to his MVP level from a couple of years ago, this team will always have a chance to put up points in a hurry for as long as Smith and Brown are healthy.
