It’s been a tough season for the Brooklyn Nets.
Fortunately for them, it’s already over.
Moreover, it seems like they’ve finally found their next coach.
According to a report by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Nets are on the verge of signing Sacramento Kings top assistant Jordi Fernandez to be Jacque Vaughn’s permanent replacement.

Fernandez had already been a candidate for several coaching openings, and he was one of three finalists to land the job.
The 41-year-old was instrumental in ending the Kings’ postseason drought last season, joining Mike Brown and helping him win Coach of the Year as well.
He had been an assistant for Mike Malone for six years with the Denver Nuggets, and he had also been a part of the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Nets finished the season with a 32-50 record and were well away from the playoff picture, with Kevin Ollie taking the reins for Jacque Vaughn as an interim coach, but with little to no success.
Fernandez would be the team’s fourth coach in the past three years.
Hopefully, he’ll be able to establish and develop a project within this ever-struggling organization, but it’ll be easier said than done, given their draft situation.
