Not so long ago, Blake Griffin was taking the NBA by storm with his electric dunks and unmatched hops.
Now, the former No. 1 pick is walking away from the game.
According to a report by Marc Stein, the former Los Angeles Clippers star has announced his retirement after 14 seasons.

Griffin was a six-time All-Star and one of the most entertaining players to watch during his prime and in the earlier stages of his career.
Injuries derailed his career and he struggled to find much playing time in the latter stages, as he had lost his explosiveness and was never much of a force on defense.
Griffin entered the league as a poster-dunker and a guy who could elevate over almost every single defender on Earth.
Then, his game transitioned and evolved, expanding his offense his range and improving his playmaking so he wouldn’t have to rely on his athleticism as often as he once did.
Griffin was a very intelligent player with a knack for making plays for others as well, and the centerpiece of the Clippers’ Lob City era.
He was their franchise player while they transitioned to become the competitive team they are nowadays, although his tenure in Los Angeles didn’t end in the best way.
Unfortunately for him, he was never the same player after leaving Los Angeles, not only because of his play or injuries but also because he rarely played significant minutes for a contender after his days with the Detroit Pistons.
Even so, he had a great career, and he should go down as one of the best players of his generation.
