This season will mark the second time the NBA presents the Clutch Player of the Year award, a highly coveted prize that celebrates who “best comes through for his teammates in the clutch.”
Last season, De’Aaron Fox of the Sacramento Kings beat Jimmy Butler and DeMar DeRozan for the distinction, but who will take it home this year?
Kendrick Perkins revealed his vote for Clutch Player of the Year on Twitter, stating: “Nobody was better than Steph Curry in the Clutch and that’s the reason he got my vote for NBA Clutch Player Of The Year!”

An argument can definitely be made for Curry to win the prize.
In fact, he’s one of the best clutch players of all time and it only seems right that he win the prize once before retirement.
But who else will be in contention for the prize?
Last year’s runner-ups, Butler and DeRozan, are once again in competition for the award, as are Damian Lillard, LeBron James, Nikola Jokic, and others.
Being a proven clutch player is a big deal in the NBA and these are some of the best stars who are able to assist their team when the moment really counts.
When the clock is ticking down and every single point counts, these are the stars who do the most work.
Recent reports from betting sites have said that DeRozan and Curry are in tough competition for Clutch Player of the Year but we won’t know the winner for a bit longer.
If Curry is able to secure the prize, it’ll be just another to add to the many other NBA accolades he has earned over the years.
