The Charlotte Hornets have been a bit of a mess lately.
Hopefully, a new direction with a new ownership will finally straighten the course of the ship once and for all.
Of course, the first step in that direction will be to hire a new head coach.
According to Evan Sidery, citing a report by Rod Boone, they’re circling in on Boston Celtics assistant coach Charles Lee.
Celtics assistant Charles Lee is viewed as the favorite to become the Hornets’ head coach, per @rodboone (https://t.co/VazdNsqy2y).

Lee has obvious ties to the front office, as he previously worked with new co-owner Rick Schnall and new GM Jeff Peterson for three years between 2015 and 2018 with the Atlanta Hawks.
The Hornets’ issues run deep.
They’ve been a bottom feeder for years now, and while they found some talent in the NBA Draft, they haven’t been able to develop it and make sure they stay grounded and focused on what’s actually important.
Whoever takes the reins of the team will have to find a way to connect with this young core of players.
They don’t seem to have basketball first and foremost on their priority list, and it’s hard to compete that way.
LaMelo Ball’s health will also continue to be a major concern for this team.
While his talent is undeniable, he’s missed more games than he’s played throughout the course of his young NBA career.
Brandon Miller looks like a star in the making and he could end up being their best player as early as next season, and that should also be a point of emphasis for Lee if he ends up getting the job.
