With the 2023-24 NBA regular season coming to an end, the first year of Victor Wembanyma’s career in the league with the San Antonio Spurs is officially over, and he didn’t disappoint, even though the team only won 22 games, which is the second-worst in the Western Conference.

Despite the team’s shortcomings during this past regular season, the Spurs rookie put up some incredible numbers and did some things on the basketball court that we’ve never seen from a player his size.

Wembanyama will almost certainly beat out Chet Holmgren of the Oklahoma City Thunder for NBA Rookie of the Year and will be a player to watch in the league moving forward, as he could quickly turn into one of the best all-around players in the league while resurrecting San Antonio as a force to be reckoned with in the West.

With Wembanyama putting on a show in his rookie season, some have started to look back at some of the best rookie seasons in recent memory, with Paul George of the Los Angeles Clippers believing Derrick Rose’s rookie season with the Chicago Bulls was something to see, via “Podcast P with Paul George.”

Unfortunately for Rose, injuries took a toll on the promising young guard in Chicago, and he was never the same once knee issues started to pile up.

Hopefully, Wembanyama will not suffer the same fate, as the sky is the limit for his potential at the NBA level, which could result in a bright future if the Spurs can put the right pieces around him in San Antonio.
