With the Los Angeles Lakers getting the best of the New Orleans Pelicans in the Play-In Tournament on Tuesday night, LeBron James and company have advanced to the first round of the NBA playoffs, where the team will take on the defending NBA champion Denver Nuggets.
Obviously, the Lakers are happy they were able to advance to the postseason in order to keep the year alive with hopes of making another deep run in the playoffs, but facing the Nuggets right out of the gate is not ideal by any means.
Even though the Nuggets are the second seed in the Western Conference this year, Denver is still considered to be the team to beat in the conference, if not the entire league, with potentially the Boston Celtics being the only team that might be able to give them a run for their money in a seven-game series.
That said, the Lakers have a tall task ahead against the team that swept them in four games during the Western Conference Finals last season, with many believing they’ll be going home early.
However, Nick Wright of FOX Sports believes that the Lakers will take down the defending NBA champions in six games, via “First Things First.”

As a diehard LeBron James fan, Wright is biased, so it is not surprising that he dug deep to find some odd stats to back up his stance that Denver will fall to Los Angeles in the first round.
If this did happen, it would be arguably the biggest upset in the playoffs this year unless the Celtics fall to whomever they’ll face in the first round in the Eastern Conference.
