The Miami Heat lost more than just one game on Wednesday night.

Erik Spoelstra’s team was up double digits on the Philadelphia 76ers and fell just one point short of forcing overtime.

Unfortunately for them, Jimmy Butler suffered a knee injury.

The Heat will still have a chance to make the playoffs and get the No. 8 seed by beating the Chicago Bulls, who took down the Atlanta Hawks in the other Play-In Tournament game.

However, even if that happens, sports analyst Craig Carton believes it’s a wrap for them.

Talking on The Carton Show, Carton claimed that the Heat’s run was officially over with Butler’s injury.

“It’s a wrap for the Miami Heat. Whether they win that next game or not, the Miami Heat run is over.”

Even though he could still play, and even if the Heat could still beat the Bulls, he just doesn’t see them getting past the first round if he’s not healthy, especially if they’re about to meet the Boston Celtics.

Carton acknowledges that we’ve seen the Heat get hot and go on some impressive runs at times in the past, but he just doesn’t think they’re that kind of team now, especially without Butler.

The Heat have fared quite well vs. the Celtics in the playoffs, and Spoelstra is obviously a much better and proven coach than Joe Mazzulla, so they could still like their chances against them.

Then again, with the Celtics winning the most games, having the most talent, and being the healthier team, it’s hard to envision the Heat getting past them, even if they beat Chicago.
