The Minnesota Vikings continue their pursuit of a new quarterback.

GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah confirmed that the team would exhaust all avenues to try to move up in the first round of the NFL Draft, and they’ve done their due diligence on all top-tier prospects not named Caleb Williams.

With Williams being a lock to go No. 1 overall to the Chicago Bears, the Vikings are looking to climb all the way to the top five, perhaps even the top three.

With that in mind, they’re going to meet with LSU star QB Jayden Daniels for dinner at Baton Rouge, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

The Vikings currently have the No. 11 and No. 23 picks and are looking to package them in a deal to climb up and secure a new franchise quarterback for years to come.

Most of the reports have them tied to J.J. McCarthy at either No. 4 or No. 5, although, recently, rumors of a potential trade with the New England Patriots to get Drake Maye at No. 3 have also emerged.

Daniels has been projected to be the No. 2 selection for most of the draft process, and it’s hard to envision him getting past the Washington Commanders.

Then again, we’ve seen crazier things happen in this draft, which is why this team simply cannot leave any stone unturned or make any assumptions.

Daniels has drawn comparisons to Lamar Jackson and Robert Griffin III for his ability to scramble and extend plays, although he’s admittedly a slightly better passer entering the league.
