Once again, the Atlanta Hawks’ season came to an early end.

This team was supposed to be on the rise after a trip to the Eastern Conference Finals, but they haven’t been able to take that leap.

Moreover, Trae Young hasn’t taken another step forward in his development either, and while the numbers have always been nice to the naked eye, that hasn’t translated into winning basketball.

That’s why Skip Bayless advised the Los Angeles Lakers not to go after him.

Talking on “Undisputed,” Bayless assessed Young’s performance in the Hawks’ loss to the Chicago Bulls, talking about the constant rumors of the Lakers’ interest in his services.

True to form, he took an uncalled-for shot at Russell Westbrook, stating that there’s a lot of him in Young.

He explained that Young has been the league-leader in turnovers since he entered the NBA, and the margin is quite wide.

More than that, he pointed out that he’s a flashy player who doesn’t make simple plays, adding that he hasn’t been an efficient scorer in his career, and especially not in elimination games.

There’s a lot to like about Young’s game, but there are also some concerns.

There have been multiple reports about his character and how he’s rubbed people the wrong way, and his lack of defensive instincts and size are always a red flag.

Then again, he’s also a gifted passer and a scorer, and if the Hawks are ready to listen to offers for him, there should be plenty of teams lining up to get him.
