The New York Giants are in a bit of an odd spot right now.
On the one hand, they have a franchise quarterback, at least on paper, so they could use their No. 6 pick to get him a prime weapon.
On the other hand, some aren’t that sold on that quarterback, but they might not be able to find him a top-tier replacement at No. 6.
So, if they don’t have what it takes to trade up, and landing a top wide receiver will still have them a couple of pieces away from contention, perhaps trading down would be the way to go.
At least, that’s how multiple teams around the league seem to feel.
According to Giants GM Joe Schoen, he’s actually been surprised by the number of calls he’s gotten about their first-round selection (via Ari Meirov).

The Giants are reportedly considering all their options with their first-round selection right now, as they should.
Some insiders argue that they’re still trying to get into the top five to land a replacement for Daniel Jones.
But they still cannot get rid of him for another season.
Not many teams would gladly trade down from No. 6, especially not a team with so many glaring needs on their roster.
However, if the price is right and the deal makes sense, it would be a disservice not to at least give it some consideration.
