The Minnesota Timberwolves have surpassed the expectations of many people this season, and the biggest reason why is the play of Anthony Edwards.
Since coming into the NBA in 2020, he has gradually raised his game each season, and this year, he has perhaps become a true superstar.
Edwards is not only ultra-talented and skilled, but he is also one of the most confident players in the league, and he told ESPN’s Malika Andrews that he’s only at 40 percent of his potential and that he’ll be the best player in the league within two or three years, via NBA on ESPN.

This year, he put up 25.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5.1 assists a game while shooting 46.1 percent from the field and 35.7 percent from 3-point range, and he earned his second straight All-Star nod.
He drove Minnesota to the third seed in the Western Conference, which was a major improvement over last season when they only managed to have the eighth-best record in the conference.
Edwards is an explosive player offensively, but he has also made great strides defensively, and his ability to make tough shots and big plays has even earned him comparisons to royalty such as Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant.
In last year’s playoffs, his scoring average rose considerably compared to the regular season, although his team was eliminated in five games in the first round by the Denver Nuggets.
This weekend, the Timberwolves will open up their postseason against the Phoenix Suns, who feature Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal.
Since the Suns have been a relative disappointment this season, Edwards and crew should have a real shot of beating them and advancing.
