The New York Jets have already been one of the biggest winners of the offseason.

Fortunately for them, they can keep adding even more talent to their already impressive roster.

They have the No. 10 selection in the upcoming edition of the NFL Draft, and some expect them to swing for the fences by getting Georgia star TE Brock Bowers.

With that in mind, former NFL GM Scott Pioli claimed that they need to be very smart with their next selection, adding that they must get this one right.

He’s right on point.

This might be the end of the line for GM Joe Douglas.

If the Jets underperform this season, regardless of the reason, it’s hard to envision them keeping Robert Saleh or Douglas any longer, as the team has already given them absolutely everything they need to succeed.

No one can blame them for Aaron Rodgers getting hurt just four plays into the season, but they did choose not to replace him or add a good backup behind him.

On paper, the Jets have what it takes to pursue a Super Bowl.

But we’ve seen this team flirt with contention and fall short of their goal way too many times in the past already.

This will be a make-or-break season for this ever-struggling franchise.

And while Bowers might have the highest upside and be the most aggressive pick they could make, perhaps they would be better off playing it safely and getting more help for their offensive line instead.
