The Boston Celtics were by far and away the best team during the 2023-24 NBA season, compiling a 64-18 record and running away with the first seed in the Eastern Conference.
Now, Boston will head into the 2024 NBA Playoffs looking to reach the NBA Finals and finally secure their elusive 18th franchise championship.
The wing tandem of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown is arguably the best in the league, but the rest of the supporting cast plus head coach Joe Mazzulla makes the Celtics perhaps the most formidable team in the postseason.
Also working in their favor is their easy first-round matchup against the Miami Heat who will be without Jimmy Butler who suffered an MCL sprain in the Play-In Tournament.
With the path to the NBA Finals clear as day, Boston is the odds-on favorite to win it all this season via NBC Sports.

The Denver Nuggets are right behind the Celtics at +300 and are the current favorite to represent the Western Conference after finishing as the second seed.
After Denver, there is a steep drop off before the Los Angeles Clippers who were given +1200 odds to win their first NBA title.
As of now, it seems like the Celtics and Nuggets are on a collision course to the NBA Finals, though the defending champions have a much harder path to getting there.
Regardless of who comes out of the Western Conference, though, Boston should own the advantage and it’ll be interesting to see if their regular season success translates to the postseason.
