Every year, the NFL Draft has that polarizing player with high concerns and high potential.
Of course, this edition wasn’t going to be the exception to that rule.
Michael Penix Jr. has been talked about for months now, with some stating that he should be a late-first or early-second-round pick because of his age and all the durability concerns and others gushing about his talent.
Notably, that includes former QB Chase Daniel, who recently broke down his tape and was in absolute awe of it.
Daniel went as far as to state that he wouldn’t be surprised if the Las Vegas Raiders decided to take him with the No. 13 pick.
If Penix is still there at 13….I wouldn’t be surprised if the Raiders took him. #RaiderNation would love it! https://t.co/yE42q4ZRJ0

Breaking down the tape, Daniel claimed that Penix Jr. was the best deep-ball thrower in the entire class by a big margin, at least in terms of accuracy.
He raved about his velocity and how he goes through his progressions, adding that he’s also got the strongest arm in the entire class.
From an arm talent standpoint, there’s not anything to dislike about Penix., and while injury concerns loom large, he also proved that he’s athletic and fast enough to pick up yards with his feet.
It’s not much of a coincidence to see that all former QBs who have watched his tape are absolutely enamored with his game.
There will always be risks with the NFL Draft, and especially with quarterbacks.
But this young man is talented enough to be worth that risk, and he did stay healthy last season.
