The NFL Draft is just a handful of days away, meaning that scouts and executives are digging deep into the tape and the stats to gather as much information as they possibly can on all prospects.

Analysts are doing the same, mostly to highlight who they feel could have the best career as a professional.

With that in mind, former NFL player Louis Riddick took to Twitter to share an impressive stat about Jayden Daniels, who’s firmly expected to go to the Washington Commanders with the No. 2 pick.

Apparently, even though he’s been deemed more of a runner than a passer, Daniels actually had the best QBR in all of college football when throwing outside of the pocket (98.8).

Among all top-notch prospects in this class, he’s followed by J.J. McCarthy (96), Drake Maye (88.7), Bo Nix (83.9), Caleb Williams (81.5), and, lastly, Michael Penix Jr. (40.4).

Out of pocket QBR

J Daniels – 98.8 * Best in FBS
JJ McCarthy- 96.0
Drake Maye – 88.7
Bo Nix – 83.9
C. Williams – 81.5
M. Penix Jr – 40.4

Daniels’ scrambling ability is one of his best.

He’s a gifted athlete with smooth hips and a quick twitch to move laterally and leave defenders behind, and he’s the kind of guy who will instinctively take off and extend plays with his feet.

He’s at his best when rolling out of the pocket, but that doesn’t mean he’s not also a very polished and talented passer who can make throws at all three levels.

The Lamar Jackson and Robert Griffin III comparisons aren’t that far-fetched.

Other prospects, such as Penix Jr., might be better than him in the pocket, but he has the makings of the modern dual-threat quarterback that all teams are looking for nowadays.
