The Los Angeles Lakers have plenty of experience playing the Denver Nuggets but they just can’t seem to crack the code and beat them.

They were handed their ninth straight loss against Denver on Saturday night after being outplayed in just about every way by the reigning champions.

On Monday’s “Undisputed,” Paul Pierce said that the Lakers were “thoroughly dominated” by Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets in Game 1.

He said that LeBron James ran out of gas in the second half and that it’s clear the four-time champion needs more assistance from other players on the roster.

But, will he get it?

Pierce noted that the Lakers were up by 12 points early in the game.

That’s when the Nuggets took a time out, regrouped, figured out their next steps, and then pounced.

After that, they continually built a strong lead over the Lakers and never looked back.

James definitely did look worn out in the second half of the game.

That isn’t surprising because he scored a total of 27 points, 6 rebounds, and 8 assists during the loss.

Anthony Davis was also electric with his 32 points and 14 rebounds, but it still wasn’t enough.

In the end, the Nuggets walked away with a 114-103 victory and sit just three wins away from moving on to the second round of the playoffs.

Lakers fans are hoping their team took notes from Saturday’s loss and have studied where everything went wrong.

There is hope they can surge into Monday night’s game with a lot more drive and production from multiple stars.

But the Nuggets have proven that they can repeatedly beat the Lakers so is more domination on the way?
