NBA fans have been eager to see what Anthony Edwards is capable of in the playoffs.
After such a strong regular season run, Edwards got off to a great start on Saturday, scoring 33 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists during the Minnesota Timberwolves’ big win over the Phoenix Suns in Game 1 of the first round.
A lot of people are paying attention to Edwards, including NBA icon Michael Jordan.
According to Stephen A. Smith, via NBACentral, Jordan recently said, “That brother is special,” when speaking about Edwards.

That might be an understatement.
Edwards has been great since being selected as the first pick in the 2020 NBA Draft.
But this season is a cut above the rest and has shown the young star doing even more for Minnesota.
He averaged 25.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5.1 assists in 2023-24, shooting 46.1% from the floor.
The Timberwolves have been on the verge of being great for multiple seasons now and they finally reached their next level this year.
Because of that, they ended the season as the third-best team in the West with a 56-26 record.
Now it is time for the Timberwolves, and Edwards, to perform at an even higher level.
If he is able to push his team in the playoffs, Jordan won’t be the only member of NBA royalty blown away by Edwards.
Along with Luka Doncic, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and others, Edwards has been talked about as one of the future leaders of the league.
If his playoff run remains as impressive as Game 1, it’ll be undeniable that Edwards could lead the league into its next era.
The Timberwolves are set to face off against the Suns in Game 2 on Tuesday night and many people will be waiting to see if Edwards can be “special” again.
