Anthony Davis put the Los Angeles Lakers on his shoulders again.

And once again, that wasn’t enough for them to beat the Denver Nuggets.

The former No. 1 pick shined with 32 points, 11 rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block on 14-of-19 shooting, but the only number that matters on the stat sheet is the final score, and his team lost.

That’s why, after watching Jamal Murray knock down a tough shot over him to give them a 2-0 series lead, he wasn’t happy at all.

Following the game, Davis took the podium and was not happy.

Then, he simply stated, ‘Jamal Murray made a shot’ before dropping the mic and leaving (Via Oh No He Didn’t & Hoop Central).

That’s not the greatest example of sportsmanship.

It’s easy to understand why a player would get frustrated after losing to the same rival in ten straight games, especially after playing an almost-perfect game and being up by 20 points late in the second half.

Then again, being available for the media is also a part of the job, a job they get paid dozens of millions to do.

The players get money to win games and fulfill their media obligations, so if they lose and don’t want to talk to the media, they’re not exactly doing what they’re paid to do.

Davis talked a lot of junk in the offseason about how he had some conversations with LeBron James about beating the Nuggets.

Perhaps, it’s time they pick up those talks or change the subject.
