It’s safe to say that the Denver Nuggets have the Los Angeles Lakers’ number after a 101-99 Game 2 final on a Jamal Murray buzzer-beater in a game where the Lakers once had a 20-point lead, got seven threes from D’Angelo Russell, a dominant closing stretch from LeBron James, and Anthony Davis made 14 of his first 15 shots.
After all that, the Lakers still lost to the Nuggets for the tenth time in a row, and former Nuggets coach George Karl took the time to take a shot at AD after the loss as well.
Karl took to Twitter and said: “Nuggets fans, as you watch the final 2-3 games of this Lakers series, remember that the great Alex English wasn’t voted a top 75 NBA all-time player but Anthony Davis was.”

Karl is no stranger to taking shots at players, as he infamously threw former players Carmelo Anthony, Kenyon Martin, and J.R. Smith under the bus in the past as well.
He is also obviously biased given the fact that he coached the Nuggets, and this shot at Davis was unnecessary and a bitter thing to say.
Davis was incredible in Game 2 and put up 32 points and 11 rebounds, though he slowed down the stretch and unfortunately Murray’s game-winner was hit over his outstretched arm.
Davis’ status as a Top 75 player was controversial when it was announced, but the NBA champion has career averages of 24 points and 10 rebounds a game and will go down as one of the best defenders of his generation.
It’s never fun to see older generations take shots at the newer generation.
We should always be building the game up instead of tearing it down.
