The Milwaukee Bucks entered Tuesday’s Game 2 of the playoffs without Giannis Antetokounmpo.

It didn’t go well.

After Milwaukee’s 125-108 defeat, many Bucks fans are wondering when they will see Antetokounmpo again.

According to Shams Charania, the eight-time All-Star isn’t ready to play just yet.

Charania reported that he has “started to do some stationary jump shooting,” which is considered a big development, via Run It Back on Twitter.

But there hasn’t been “much cutting, no scrimmaging, no all-out running yet,” which means the Bucks need to “be prepared to keep playing on without Giannis.”

Antetokounmpo hasn’t played for the Bucks since April 9, when he posted 15 points in a game against the Boston Celtics.

That night, he collapsed to the court mid-game, gripping his calf and obviously in serious pain.

As he limped back to the locker room, fans were nervous that it was the last time they’d see him this season.

This situation is uncomfortably similar to what happened last year when Antetokounmpo was injured at the start of the first round of the playoffs and missed multiple games.

He came back but wasn’t 100%, although he certainly tried his hardest and assisted his team.

In the end, the Heat were able to get a hold of the series before Antetokounmpo’s return and the Bucks ended up losing in the first round.

All season long, Milwaukee has been very scared of that happening again, and it seemed avoidable for much of the year.

But now Antetokounmpo is hurt, the Bucks just lost by a wide margin in their second game, and fans are nervous that history is about to repeat itself.

Can Antetokounmpo soon return and save the day or will this season end like the last one did?
