Ahead of Thursday’s NFL Draft, most of the football world knows that teams such as the Bears, Commanders, Patriots, Vikings, Broncos, and Raiders are interested in drafting a quarterback.
What no one is expecting is a team like the Chargers to draft a new quarterback.
After all, they have one of the best quarterbacks in the league in Pro-Bowler Justin Herbert.
But according to ESPN BET, the odds of the Chargers drafting a quarterback with their first-round pick have increased significantly in the last 24 hours.
They have jumped from +1500 down to +600.

Again, it would be an absolute stunner if Jim Harbaugh decided to move on from Herbert without even coaching him.
Then again, if they were to draft a quarterback at No. 5 overall, wouldn’t it be Michigan’s J.J. McCarthy?
After all, he and Harbaugh are very close from their time at Michigan together.
They won the national championship last year, with McCarthy also having an All-Big Ten campaign.
But, the idea of the Chargers drafting a new quarterback with Herbert in his prime seems a little crazy.
They have other massive needs, and that includes the receiver position.
Both Keenan Allen (traded to Bears) and Mike Williams (released; signed with Jets) both left to join new teams.
So, Harbaugh should address that position first.
Or, he could draft his old quarterback in McCarthy, then he could get his wide receivers later on.
Regardless, the Chargers are a very fascinating team to watch, especially because they already have an established quarterback.
