The Oklahoma City Thunder have officially arrived.
Mark Daigneault’s team is proving that their regular-season success was no fluke, going up 2-0 over the New Orleans Pelicans and making sure to hold onto homecourt advantage.
Nonetheless, some people still aren’t fully confident in their ability to get the job done because of their youth.
The Thunder are the youngest No. 1 seed in NBA history and one of the youngest teams to make the playoffs, having a lower age average (23.92 years) than some college teams.
Now, as shown by NBA on ESPN on Twitter, they’ve also made history thanks to that youth.
For the first time in NBA playoff history, all the points from a team were scored by players aged 25 or younger.

The Thunder weren’t supposed to be this good this quickly.
They showed shades of greatness last season but fell off when Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was out with an injury and didn’t even make the playoffs.
Chet Holmgren’s addition was massive for this team, and while he hasn’t gotten the same credit or recognition as Victor Wembanyama, he’s been an absolute stud on both ends of the floor and would’ve run away with Rookie of the Year every other season.
The craziest part about this team is that they still have more than 30 draft picks in the next seven years, so they could either keep on adding young talent or package them into a deal to get another star.
So, even if they don’t finish the job this year, they’re not going away any time soon.
