The Boston Celtics are under heavy fire right now, and rightfully so.
It’s not that a team cannot lose a playoff game, but a championship contender should have no excuse for losing by double-digits at home to an undermanned No. 8 seed.
However, the Miami Heat are no ordinary No. 8 seed.
Once again, Erik Spoelstra’s team proved that culture matters, taking the TD Garden by storm and having one of the best postseason games in franchise history.
The Heat knocked down a franchise-best 23 three-pointers, the fourth-most in a playoff game ever.
That’s why NBA analyst Tim Legler believes that as much as the Celtics deserve plenty of backlash for their performance, this is also about what the Heat are all about (via Get Up).
“This is more about the Miami Heat showing you what they’re about. … They want to make this a series.”

He praised coach Spoelstra for having his guys ready to perform, as well as the players for taking care of business despite not having Jimmy Butler and Terry Rozier.
It seems like the Heat can put together a group of undrafted players and still make a run for their money in the playoffs.
Their hard-nosed competitiveness and the pride they take in leaving their bodies on the line every single possession and on both ends of the floor often make a difference.
That also makes fans wonder how many rings other teams would win if they were in the right space, mentally, as the Heat have been able to compete at a high level every year even though they don’t have the most talented squad in the game.
