When Josh Hart joined the NBA in 2017, he was drafted by the Utah Jazz.
But Hart still holds a grudge against the team that could have drafted him but didn’t: the Philadelphia 76ers.
According to Stefan Bondy, via NBACentral, Hart said:
“I wanted to go here. They were at 25. They did a draft-and-stash, some European guy that I can’t pronounce his name. But this is the place I wanted to go. It was right down the street. Unfortunately, they felt they wanted a draft-and-stash. But draft night I was a little bummed out that 25 came and I wasn’t there.”

Hart is from Maryland and went to high school in Washington DC, and then went to college at Villanova.
Because of that, he felt that he would be a perfect fit for the 76ers, who were “right down the street” from him.
In the end, he was nabbed by the Jazz but spent his first couple of seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers.
From there, he bounced down to the New Orleans Pelicans and the Portland Trail Blazers.
Known for his role-playing abilities and his infectious enthusiasm and attitude, Hart has now become a crucial part of the New York Knicks.
Those Knicks are now a major part of the playoffs, battling against the 76ers.
New York has a 2-0 lead in that series and it looks like they could put the Sixers away and move to the second round.
So even though Hart initially wanted to play for Philadelphia, it seems that everything has worked out well for the star.
During his first two games in the playoffs this year, Hart has averaged 21.5 points and 14 rebounds per game.
He is showing the 76ers why they made a big mistake by not signing him in the draft.
