For most of their history, the Minnesota Timberwolves have been bottom feeders.

Kevin Garnett put them on his shoulders and made them relevant, but the team’s inability to surround him with elite talent eventually doomed their chances.

Now, Anthony Edwards has them one win away from the Western Conference Semifinals.

Moreover, for the first time in franchise history, they’ve won three consecutive playoff games, according to ESPN.

Edwards is a special talent.

He’s taking the torch from Kevin Durant’s hands, establishing himself as the best shooting guard in the game, all in front of another legitimate star like Devin Booker.

The Timberwolves have the Phoenix Suns against the ropes.

They’re just one win away from the second round, and they’ve absolutely dominated them on both ends of the floor.

Edwards has proven to be not only a great player, but also the kind of leader and hard-nosed competitor this team had been lacking since the Kevin Garnett days.

Some still doubted their ability to get the job done in the playoffs, as they’re a young team with a history of shortcomings, and Karl-Anthony Towns and Rudy Gobert have left something to be desired in the past.

But even if this is as far as they get in the playoffs, this team looks poised to become even better for years to come.
