The Kansas City Chiefs have won back-to-back Super Bowls and three in the past five years, so there isn’t a ton of pressure on them in the NFL Draft, though it’s always nice to have the approval of your best player when making picks.
Patrick Mahomes tweeted out his support for one recent Chiefs draft pick and he appears to be happy with the selection.
Mahomes simply tweeted, “I love Veach man!” in reference to Chiefs general manager Brett Veach after the team selected BYU offensive tackle Kingsley Suamataia in the second round.
I love veach man!

Veach also traded up in the first round to select Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy, who set the record for the fastest 40-yard dash in NFL Combine history at 4.21 seconds.
The Chiefs overcame a troublesome offense in 2023 to win it all and had noticeable declines in performance at receiver and tackle, so Veach immediately improved both areas in the first two rounds.
Worthy adds an explosiveness this offense hasn’t had since trading Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins two years ago, and Suamataia could compete for a starting job at tackle sooner than later.
Left tackle Donovan Smith hit free agency this offseason and remains unsigned, and 2023 third-round pick Wanya Morris is currently atop the depth chart at the position.
Worthy could immediately step in as the starting slot receiver alongside Rashee Rice and Marquise Brown, but we have seen Mahomes struggle to develop chemistry with other young receivers so far.
It’s good to see Mahomes happy, and we’ll see if Veach adds more offensive help for him on Day 3.
