The Los Angeles Lakers survived to see another day.

Anthony Davis had an epic performance, putting the team on his shoulders and dominating both ends of the glass.

D’Angelo Russell finally had a good game against the Denver Nuggets, and Austin Reaves was also a strong contributor on offense.

LeBron James was quiet and passive for most of the game, but he was a big factor down the stretch, saving most of the scoring for when it mattered the most.

Then, following the win, James talked about how the Lakers need to address this with a ‘one game at a time’ mindset, stating that Monday’s Game 5 would be the most important of the season for them (via NBA).

“We give ourselves another lifeline… Monday’s game is the most important game of the season for us,” James said.

It took James two days to go from ‘this is just basketball’ to talking about a ‘must-win game.’

That’s what avoiding a sweep can do to a player.

The series will now head back to Denver, and the reigning NBA champions are much more dominant at home.

Still, it’s not about being the best team on paper; they have to prove it on the court.

You never want to give a competitor another chance to prove themselves, and they better take care of business before this gets complicated for them.
