No one beats the Los Angeles Lakers 12 times in a row.
It took them roughly 500 days, but the Lakers have finally gotten the best of the Denver Nuggets.
Needless to say, no one thought they stood much of a chance ahead of this matchup, yet they still managed to live to see another day.
Following the win, coach Darvin Ham praised his team’s mental toughness, saying that their confidence and faith had never wavered before this matchup (via NBA).
“Our competitiveness never waivered. Our togetherness never waivered,” Ham said.

For as long as there’s a chance, there will always be hope.
Also, anything can happen to a team with LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
Of course, most people around the league feel like they just delayed the inevitable, but it was still nice to see this team putting up a fight.
Whether they’ll be able to revert this and become the very first team in NBA history to come back from a 0-3 deficit in a playoff series seems highly unlikely, especially considering the reigning champions are the better team and fairly superior at home.
Even so, back-to-back sweeps wouldn’t exactly do wonders for LeBron’s legacy.
Davis put the team on his shoulders and had one of his best performances ever, dominating both ends of the glass and showing what this team could look like if he had that competitive fire night in and night out.
Unfortunately, it might still be too little, too late for Ham’s team.
