It took them a while, but the Houston Texans’ trade with the Cleveland Browns has now finally been completed.
Three offseasons ago, the Browns traded for Deshaun Watson in the midst of legal turmoil, and they gave up a lot to get him to Cleveland.
So, now that the aftermath of the trade is finally in the books and all picks have been selected, ESPN insider Adam Schefter took to Twitter to share a bit of a recap.
After today, the 2022 Texans-Browns Deshaun Watson trade is now complete.

Browns received:
QB Deshaun Watson
2024 6th round pick (included in Jerry Jeudy trade)
Needless to say, GM Nick Caserio won this deal, and it wasn’t even close.
Watson got $230 million fully guaranteed in Cleveland, yet he’s only been able to play 12 games in two years, either because of injury or suspension.
The Browns have an 8-4 record with him at the helm, but he hasn’t exactly been the same player he was during his days in Houston.
Watson will forever be a Texans legend, not only for his solid play with the organization but also for being a key piece in putting together the contending team they have right now.
