At this point, the NBA GOAT debate seems futile.
Some keep moving further and further for LeBron James, while others take every minor thing he does as more evidence to back up his GOAT case.
It just seems like no one is going to convince one of his critics that he’s the GOAT; it doesn’t matter what he does anymore.
On the flip side, there’s no failure big or humiliating enough to make his fans waver and backpedal from their decision; everybody has made up their minds already.
Nonetheless, former Los Angeles Lakers star Dwight Howard believes there’s one more thing James could do to prove that he’s the best to ever do it.
He took to Twitter to point out that if James leads the Lakers to the first-ever 0-3 comeback in NBA playoff history, then the dust will settle for him as the GOAT.

Once again, why would he become the GOAT for coming back to win a first-round series if he’s not the GOAT already?
Some would argue that he didn’t have anything left to prove at this point — even though they won Game 4 thanks to Anthony Davis.
Others would say that the GOAT would’ve never been 0-3 in the first round to begin with — even though all great players were swept at least once.
James might or might not be the GOAT, and that’s perfectly fine.
Worst case-scenario is that he’s one of the five best players to ever lace them up and that should be enough if we consider that this league has had hundreds of the best basketball players ever.
