The Boston Celtics easily beat the Miami Heat on Monday night but it may have come with a huge price.

Kristaps Porzingis was injured and limped to the locker room, unable to return for the rest of the game.

Obviously, the Celtics want Porzingis back as soon as possible but there is still a lot of ambiguity about his injury and how long he’ll be away.

But the big man seemed to be in good spirits after the game.

On Monday night, he posted on Twitter: “Good W tonight. DWhite is special!! Thanks for all the support, will be good.”

Fans of the Celtics are really hoping Porzingis is right when he says he will be “good.”

The problem is with his right calf and he was seen leaving the arena in a walking boot after the game.

Now everyone has to wait for any more news about his status and his return.

The Celtics have been fearing this moment for months, but they have also been planning for it.

When Boston signed Porzingis, they knew they were acquiring a lot of talent but they also knew it came with a risk.

Porzingis has suffered many injuries throughout his career and has averaged about 55 games per season since an ACL injury back in 2018.

The Celtics have been very careful to go easy on Porzingis’ body this season, sitting him whenever possible and attempting to limit his use during back-to-back games.

They have also turned to bench center Al Horford often, which has taken the pressure off of Porzingis’ shoulders.

If Porzingis has to miss some games, Horford will be called upon even more.

The Celtics hope that Porzingis returns very soon so he can get back to work and help the team push further in the playoffs.

They have plans to fight on without him, but they’d rather not use them.
