Even before he agreed to sign with them, the Los Angeles Lakers went the extra mile to make sure LeBron James was comfortable in Southern California.

Likewise, James fully committed to the organization, signing contracts and extensions in ways he had never done before.

And while it seems like he’s taking things one season at a time, which is normal at his age, it’s hard to envision him walking away from the league right now.

It’s even tougher to imagine him leaving Los Angeles.

That’s why Skip Bayless just doesn’t seem to think that’s going to happen.

In the latest edition of “Undisputed,” he claimed that Jeanie Buss knows better than to put an end to this marriage.

.@RealSkipBayless does not see a LeBron-Lakers split next season:

“He is still the face of this league. Jeanie Buss is too smart to start over.” pic.twitter.com/NqVvVGzHN9

He claimed that James is still the face of the league who guarantees ratings and whatnot, and there’s just no way they think they could be closer to winning another NBA championship without him.

Bayless also thinks that having Jarred Vanderbilt, Cam Reddish, and Gabe Vincent healthy from the jump would’ve helped this team be in sync come playoff time, and he doesn’t think the Denver Nuggets embarrassed them.

The Lakers aren’t a championship-caliber team right now, but they’re not as bad as LeBron fans want to make it seem, either.

They have a strong roster and might only need better coaching to get over the hump, even if they don’t get a third star.

At the end of the day, there’s just too much at stake for both parties to put an end to their relationship.
