Jimmy Butler has been with the Miami Heat since the 2019-20 season.

During his time with the team, the Heat have traveled far in the playoffs several times, including multiple appearances in the NBA Finals.

Butler has become a vital part of the team’s lineup and says he wants to retire as a member of Miami.

According to Anthony Chiang, via NBACentral, Butler is seeking a max extension from the Heat this summer.

Chiang states that Butler is going to seek a maximum two-year extension that is worth around $113 million.

The Heat will then be required to decide if they want to agree to Butler’s request, offer him a different total, or do nothing at all.

The team is attempting to hold onto Butler as long as possible while also pleasing the rest of the roster.

If they agree to an extension with Butler, he will be with the team until he is 37 years old and nearing retirement.

This might be the last deal that he ever signs and it could guarantee that he retires a member of the Heat.

During his five seasons in Miami, Butler has averaged 21.3 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 5.7 assists.

He has been a crucial part of the team and its culture but he has also started to experience more injuries over the last few seasons as age has caught up with him.

Will the Heat be willing to pay more money to a star who could become inconsistent in the upcoming seasons?

This is just one of the few difficult decisions the Heat will have to make in the summer.

Butler believes he is worth a lot of money and now it’s time to see if the Heat agree.
