Analyst Compares Suns Owner To Jerry Jones

Phoenix Suns owner Mat Ishbia raised a lot of eyebrows the other day when he gave an optimistic outlook about his team after they just got swept in the opening round of the playoffs.

Ishbia has faith in his team and the roster they currently have and made it sound like not much has to change.

Fans weren’t very happy about that, and neither were some of the co-hosts on “The Carton Show.”

On Friday’s episode, Ishbia was called a “clown” by Craig Carton, while Tim Hardaway Sr. stated that Ishbia is acting like Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.

Hardaway said Ishbia is attempting to “calm down” the fans and assure them that everything is okay and no one should panic.

To some, that looks completely silly.

Ishbia claims that the Suns are in “a great position” and that the future is very bright for the team.

Some people agree with him but others think that is ridiculous, especially after the brief and disappointing playoff run they just had.

With players like Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal running the show, fans expected more from the Suns.

They definitely didn’t expect to be swept.

Ishbia swears that the current lineup isn’t going to change in the offseason, assuring everyone that Durant, Booker, Beal, and others will stay.

He also said the current starting five will remain and be around when 2024-25 kicks off.

Ishbia’s comments might end up biting him if the rest of the Western Conference gets stronger in the summer.

If the competition becomes better and Ishbia refuses to make changes, his team will only suffer more.

Then there will be more comparisons made about him, and they won’t be flattering.
