The New York Knicks were able to get it done Thursday night, defeating the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 6 and advancing to the second round of the playoffs.
It was an impressive showing by multiple stars, including Jalen Brunson, who scored 41 points and 12 assists in the 118-115 win.
On Friday’s “Get Up,” Stephen A. Smith was unsurprisingly very joyous about Brunson’s run in the opening round.
He said that Brunson is “without question a top-five Knick” over the last 50 years.
“Over the last 50 years, [Jalen Brunson] is without question a top five Knick.”

There are plenty of reasons why Smith is piling such praise on Brunson.
The star is the first player since Michael Jordan with at least 39 points in four consecutive playoff games.
He scored 39 points, 47 points, 40 points, and 41 points during the last four games.
Brunson is also the first player in NBA playoff history to earn 35 points and 10 assists in three straight road games.
Brunson has definitely been the star player for the Knicks since joining the team at the start of last season.
Some people questioned if he was going to be ready for the task of team leader after years of being second-in-command behind Luka Doncic.
But Brunson proved all of the doubters wrong and started to show that he really does have what it takes to be the best player in New York.
He has been sensational all season long but his playoff performance so far has been even more terrific.
And now the Knicks are in the second round, preparing to play the Indiana Pacers starting next week.
Will Brunson continue to score so well and earn his place in New York history?
