The Philadelphia 76ers’ 2023-24 NBA season got derailed when Joel Embiid suffered a knee injury that cost him nearly two months of action.
Embiid eventually made his return and led the 76ers down the stretch and kept them in the seventh seed after beating the Miami Heat in the Play-In Tournament.
However, a clearly hobbled Embiid struggled to have the same impact in the first round against the New York Knicks and subsequently Philadelphia was dispatched in six games.
Now going into the offseason, the 76ers will be one of the most aggressive players in the market as the look to give Tyrese Maxey and Embiid more help.
Philadelphia is flush with cap space and can go after just about any star in the league.
All signs point to them going after a wing-sized player, with Paul George, Jimmy Butler, and Brandon Ingram their most likely targets, via Brian Windhorst and “Get Up.”

George has yet to come to an agreement on an extension with the L.A. Clippers, making him potentially the best player who could be available this summer.
Meanwhile, Butler and Ingram find themselves in similar situations though the latter seems more likely to move as reports have already surfaced that the New Orleans Pelicans aren’t interested in offering him a max extension.
Any one of these three players would be a huge boost to Philadelphia and they should be considered the frontrunners to land one of them.
