The Cleveland Cavaliers headed into Sunday’s Game 7 showdown with the Orlando Magic hoping to make easy work of Paolo Banchero and company, but this game was far tougher than they expected, with Orlando determined to make Cleveland work to advance to the second round.
In the first half, the Magic were seemingly in total control with Banchero putting on a show leading to his team-high 38 points and 16 rebounds, as the Cavaliers looked outmatched and ready to see their season come to an end.
However, in the second half, the Cavaliers started to turn it on, with superstar guard Donovan Mitchell getting hot on his way to dropping a game-high 39 points on the Magic.
In the end, Mitchell proved to be too much to handle, even though it seemed like a one-man show, as he didn’t get much help from his teammates in this game.
Mitchell finished with 39 points, nine rebounds and five assists as the Cavaliers were able to take down the Magic in Cleveland in order to advance to the second round of the NBA playoffs via NBA Central.

Although the Cavaliers ultimately defeated Banchero and his up-and-coming squad, Cleveland will face a tough challenge in the second round when trying to take down Jayson Tatum and the top-seeded Boston Celtics.
The Celtics made easy work of the Miami Heat in the first round and will be more than ready for this Cavaliers team when their second-round series gets underway on Tuesday in Boston.
