The Minnesota Timberwolves are still undefeated in the postseason.
Their stellar team defense deserves plenty of credit for that, but Anthony Edwards has certainly risen up to the occasion as well.
We’ve watched him blossom into a two-way star right before our eyes this season, and it seems like he’s determined to make a statement and put the league on notice.
With that in mind, NBA analyst Robin Lundberg claimed that Edwards is the best candidate to be the new face of the NBA (Via Mad Dog Sports Radio).
“He’s got an entertaining game!”
With a changing of the guard in the NBA, @robinlundberg says that Anthony Edwards has emerged as the leading candidate for the new face of the NBA.

He believes it all started when he became Team USA’s go-to guy, and while that roster wasn’t the most impressive we’ve seen, it still gave him some caché.
Per Lundberg, Edwards doesn’t only have an entertaining game that younger kids and players could try to emulate, but he’s also got the charisma.
Also, he’s an American player, which gives him an edge over guys like Luka Doncic.
Edwards is already one of the best players in the league.
He’s averaging 33 points per game in the postseason, playing lockdown defense, and looking like the best player on the court despite going against the likes of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, Bradley Beal, Jamal Murray, and Nikola Jokic.
The Timberwolves still need to get past the reigning NBA champions, and it won’t be easy.
But Edwards won’t go down without a fight, and even if they don’t get the job done this season — which they may not — they’re going to be a very good team for a long time.
