Charles Barkley went down as one of the greatest power forwards in NBA history.
While he wasn’t able to win a championship, he was an MVP in Michael Jordan’s era, which is a lot to say, and he was a physical and dominant force.
Despite being undersized for the position, Barkley was a great rebounder on both sides of the glass, and he had just so much raw power in his legs, just like a running back.
With that in mind, Pro Football Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe asked him if he had ever played football.
In his recent appearance on Club Shay Shay, the NBA legend admitted that football and boxing are actually his favorite sports, but he wasn’t very good on the gridiron.
Charles Barkley = TERRIBLE At Football
“My friends make fun of me. I played football for one day… I just ran into a guy at full speed for two hours. This the stupidest sh*t ever.” pic.twitter.com/aP80B8nDBY

Barkley laughingly revealed that he played football for a single day, and he didn’t like just running into a guy at full speed for two hours, so he never showed up again.
Of course, physical traits and athleticism translate between sports, and chances are that Barkley would’ve been a solid lineman if he had decided to stick with football, but that kind of physical burden isn’t for everybody.
In the end, everything worked out perfectly for him, as he wound up becoming one of the greatest rebounders this game had ever seen, not to mention making millions from basketball.
Nonetheless, it would’ve still been interesting to see whether he could’ve made it in a different sport, and how his career would’ve turned out had he chosen to walk that path.
