The Pittsburgh Steelers entered the offseason with some clear needs.
Finding a new offensive coordinator and quarterback was at the top of that list, and they didn’t take much time before hiring Arthur Smith and trading for Russell Wilson and Justin Fields.
Then, they entered the 2024 NFL Draft with big needs on the offensive line, the secondary defense, and at wide receiver.
That’s why, upon assessing every single team and what they did in the draft, NFL Draft expert Justin Melo admitted that they had the best draft overall, with scouts at The Draft Network giving them an A- grade.
I hate to admit it, but the Pittsburgh Steelers had the best class in the 2024 NFL Draft, IMO.
They earned an “A-” from our scouts at @TheDraftNetwork:

That makes sense.
They used their first two picks to bolster their offensive line by adding elite talents like Troy Fautanu and Zach Frazier, and they tripled down on that by taking Mason McCormick out of South Dakota State in the fourth round.
They added another weapon for the passing game next to George Pickens by taking Roman Wilson out of Michigan in the third round.
Then, they used their final pick of the night on Texas CB Ryan Watts to add more depth to their secondary.
The Steelers also landed LB Payton Wilson and DT Logan Lee in the third and sixth rounds, respectively, to round up a very solid recruiting class.
This team made the playoffs last season despite some glaring needs, and that speaks volumes about Mike Tomlin’s coaching skills.
Now, it won’t be enough to just make the playoffs, and it’s time they start winning in the postseason again.
